I've taught mathematics for more than four decades at the high school, community college, and university levels.

Today, I serve as Professor of Mathematics at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

My educational background includes:

  • Bachelor of Science in Statistics

  • Master of Science in Applied Mathematics

  • Master of Education in Mathematics Education

As an applied mathematician, I believe mathematics should be practical, meaningful, and connected to the real world.

Mathematics isn’t meant to be memorized.

For more than 40 years, I've helped students discover that mathematics really can make sense.

Whether your child is building number sense, preparing for Algebra I, tackling AP Precalculus, or succeeding in a college mathematics course, my goal is always the same:

Help students understand mathematics,
not simply memorize procedures.

When students understand why mathematics works, they become confident, independent problem solvers.

Because understanding lasts longer than memorization.

My Philosophy

Every student learns differently.

Some need help preparing for tomorrow's quiz.
Others need to rebuild the mathematical foundation that school never gave them.

Rather than teaching students shortcuts to memorize, I teach them how to recognize patterns, think logically, and solve problems with confidence.

Those skills stay with them long after a test is over.
